Finding our voice

Through my studies in architecture and music, my long-standing relationship with singing, and my broader philosophical, social, and scientific pursuits, a strong interest in the search for an authentic voice was cultivated. The phrase «authentic voice» does not refer to a specific style or form of expression, but rather to a continuous search and meaning-making by each of us.

The search for our voice, with the primary tool being the technique that helps us maintain a healthy vocal organ, does not stop at giving a good performance of a song or a narrative, that is simply a harmonious sound result. The vocal organ is one of the most important tools for expressing human nature and its multifaceted psychological reality. Its sound resonates with our cultural origins, our wider environment and our deepest desires, concerns and questions. It vibrates in harmony with the rhythm of our inner world and as such can be understood as an authentic voice, rather than as the echo of inevitably significant others voices. Our innate mimetic tendency for survival reasons as well as other reasons related to experiences and/or established habits can in some cases hinder our creative expression in various ways. My teaching approach aims at the all-round search for our voice and its creative use.
